For Reamping guitar tracks
Record a dry, un-processed, un-effected track in your home recording studio using a DI unit. You can also split the signal and sent to both,DAW and guitar amp simultaneously. This provides you a proper amplifier "feel" while also tracking the dry signal. Record at least 2 tracks of rhythm guitars (one for the L channel and one for the R channel). For more fat and aggressive guitar sound you can record 4 guitar tracks! We always recommend the bands to do that. It gives us more flexibility for the Mix. Pay attention to your recording performance. All of the 4 tracks must be 100% tight!!
Mixing Session
If you are working on Pro Tools send your Pro Tools Sessions. All tracks must be edited & consolidated, unless edit is agreed to be done along with the mixing process. All of your alternative takes and unused stuff must be deleted (Remove Unused Media).Name all equal tracks with the same name for all songs and please use Capitals (max 6 letters).
If you are working on Cubase / Nuendo, before you'll export your tracks be sure to remove any kind of plug-ins (Eq's, Compressors etc) and level automations. Set the left locator to 0 and export all of your tracks individually at 44.100 kHz, 24 bit.Name all equal tracks with the same name for all songs and please use Capitals (Max 6 letters).
Mastering Session
Watch your Mix Levels. Do not allow the master fader's meter to clip. Please do not put any limiters, compressors or mastering plug-ins on the master fader! For best quality, bounce your mix as 24 bit wave or aiff, at whatever sample rate you are already using (44.1 or 48 khz is always a good choice).
